GONIOPHOTOMETER
SENSO’s in-house photometric testing ensures that our lighting design can match your needs precisely.
Our Goniophotometer uses a CCD camera, photometer and spectrometer that move on two finely controlled axes around the luminaire. The captured ray data is then transformed into a far-field luminous intensity distribution, which can yield absolute photometry IES files, complete LM-79 test reports, and accurate Spectrometer measurements, including CRI and CCT.
Conventional methods use relative photometric testing where the light source is tested separately from the fixture and the result is then multiplied by a lamp factor for each individual luminaire. This produces an IES file that might not accurately represent the light output and efficacy of the final fixture. For SSL sources, the light output is dependent on the exact fixture and its temperature characteristics. Senso’s IES files are based on absolute photometry where all combinations of reflectors and lumen packages are tested in each specific fixture. These absolute photometry tests produce an exact “real-world” measurement and results in a more accurate lighting design for our clients.
Senso prides itself in producing quality light and industry leading customer support. With our ever expanding facilities and testing capabilities we are able to accurately quantify the quality of our product as well as support to our customers with on-demand testing services.

COLOR RENDERING
The spectrum of colors is practically limitless. At SENSO, we used the latest methods to test and produce the exact hues you’re looking for.
TM-30-15 is a new way of quantifying color-rendering properties of light sources. It looks at a range of colour qualities, distinguishing both colour fidelity and colour gamut and providing a framework for interpreting Chroma and hue shift associated with light sources.
Today’s colour rendering index (Ra) is like a paint palette of eight pastel colors. The number of reference colors on the scale limits our ability to render colour. Imagine instead that you had a palette of 99 different paints! With these newly available colors, we can create a more detailed and vivid interpretation of the objects or space you are lighting. By adding more colors to our palette, we are increasing our colour space, or ‘colour gamut area’, which can be measured for any given light source. This will enable you to use the TM 30-15 measurement tool to select a lighting source that will show more depth and richness of objects within your lit space.
TM 30-15 allows us to measure both the Rf value and the Rg Gamut value, taking full advantage of the true colors available to experience. Here at SENSO, using our prized Goniophotometer, we will provide TM 30-15 reports on request and as needed as we expand our use of this the new technology.
